The Hole is pleased to present a solo exhibition by Philip Gerald. Frequently referencing canonical art history, Gerald infuses his compositions with irreverence and a fluorescent palette that bursts with both joy and absurdity. The Dublin based painter's vividly colorful works draw from the aesthetics of Microsoft Paint, clip art, and meme culture, transforming faux pas into richly crafted, materially resonant paintings that are just the right amount of cheeky. After numerous group shows and fairs with The Hole we couldn't be more excited to kick off summer with his New York solo debut.
