The Hole is proud to announce our first performance-driven art fair booth featuring Jaimie Warren. In our Henri Rousseau jungle of a booth, she will bring D12 to life with a new work, Freddy Krueger and George Michael sing Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me in Henri Rousseau’s Le lion, ayant faim, se jette sur l’antilope, 1898/1905. This gruesome yet heartwarming tribute to the recently passed musician George Michael will be done is signature Jaimie Warren DIY style with painted props, hand-sewn costumes and puppets.

Jaimie Warren is a photographer and performance artist, and co-creator of the community arts project Whoop Dee Doo. Warren’s work has been featured in publications including The New York Times, artnet, ArtNews, and ArtForum among others. Warren is a NYFA fellow in Interdisciplinary Arts, the recipient of the 2014 Baum Award for An Emerging American Photographer, and is a featured artist in ART21’s documentary series New York Close Up. Whoop Dee Doo is a 2016 Franklin Furnace Grant recipient, and recently completed a 6-month project series and artist residency with The High Line in New York. Warren has presented two solo exhibitions so far at the Hole and will have her third show in 2017.
