Spotify is pleased to present The Gold Standard, an exhibition celebrating the golden era of women in hip-hop, featuring portraits by Manon Biernacki of artists who remain at the forefront of hip-hop’s future; Cardi B, City Girls, Doja Cat, Flo Milli, GloRilla, Ice Spice, Latto, Megan Thee Stallion, Saweetie and Sexyy Red. From the expressive lyricism to the multicolored personalities they sculpt, these women paint the town red, setting the bar for higher artistic excellence in the industry.
Manon Biernacki (b. 1999, Mali) lives and works in Vancouver, Canada. Her paintings and illustrations are characterized by vibrant colors and bold shapes, infused with a sense of magic and whimsy that transform everyday moments into extraordinary experiences. Her work celebrates the origins and stories of diverse female artists and protagonists, honoring and uplifting voices that resonate with her Malian heritage and upbringing in Paris. Biernacki studied animation and graphic design at Atelier de Sèvres, past clients include Bloomsbury US, Majalla Magazine, Daily Hive Vancouver, and Johns Hopkins Magazine. The Gold Standard series with Spotify marks her first solo presentation.
